Practice Nurse & HCA Services

The Nursing team provide the following services in fully equipped treatment rooms, between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.

The Nurses are available Monday to Friday 4.00pm – 4.30pm for telephone advice calls.

Practice Nurses

Our practice nurses hold surgeries, in fully equipped treatment rooms for:

  • Chronic disease management
  • Cervical smears and swabs
  • Contraception & HRT Checks
  • Vaccinations & Immunisations – including travel & baby immunisations

The nurse offers services including asthma health checks, contraception, pill, injection checks, coronary heart disease / MI check ups, diabetes clinic, dietry advice, HRT checks, Hypertension clinic, immunizations, minor injuries clinic, teenage drop in clinic, travel vaccinations and Well Woman / Well Man clinics.

Minor Illness clinic

If you have one of the following acute conditions you can see the Nurse prescriber:

• Asthma / COPD exacerbations
• Back Pain
• Chest Infection
• Chicken pox
• Conjunctivitis
• Contraception / Emergency Contraception
• Cough/Cold symptoms
• Diarrhoea & Vomiting (Tele advice)
• Earache
• Eczema/Dermatitis
• Finger/toe infections
• Impetigo

• Joint Pain
• Lacerations / Burns / infected wounds
• Minor Injury
• Rashes
• Sexual Health
• Shingles
• Sinusitis symptoms
• Skin infection/insect bites
• Sore throats
• Sprains/soft tissue injuries
• Urinary symptoms (not under 5yrs)
• Vaginal discharge
• Whiplash injury (RTA)

Sexual Health And Contraception Clinic (SHACC)

We provide the following services:

  • Implanon fit & removal
  • IUCD fit
  • IUCD removal
  • Contraceptive advice

Health Care Assistant (HCA)

The HCA services include blood tests, ECG’s, new patient checks, vaccinations, immunizations, and weight checks.

Please book an appointment with the Health Care Assistant for any of the following:-

  • Blood tests
  • B12 injection
  • Urine tests
  • Blood Pressure checks
  • Ear care
  • ECG
  • Glucose tolerance test
  • New registration health check
  • NHS health check
  • Weight/healthy lifestyle follow-up
  • Flu & pneumonia jabs.
